My New Painting Series
I reached a point in my painting journey where I am ready to do something new. I want to hold a solo show. But in order for it to feel like a unified show, I decided that I should paint in a series for awhile. But what should I paint? For now, I didn't want to take a huge departure from what I've been doing. I just wanted a fresh subject. I had already made my first few paintings of Saint Kitts from 2006-2007 when we lived there, and I had a lot more photos that I wanted to use as references. This is was one of the first paintings I made when I started painting again, but I have a lot more that I want to paint from this series.

I'm starting with one of the bigger ones which will be a 36x36" painting of Ross School of Veterinary Medicine. It's got a lot going on and won't be easy. But if I can get this one done, I will feel a great sense of accomplishment and momentum for the rest of the series.
The next step will be to try and find the right venue to hold a solo show, but I have a good idea of where I'd like to do it. I'll cross that bridge when I get closer to the finish line.
How long will it take? I think it will take the whole year. I have 30 paintings planned for the show. But at the rate I'm currently working at, it may take two years. We'll see!
I'm probably not going to post a lot of new work for awhile unless it's design work or other everyday life posts. I guess that's why I wanted to share this info with y'all!
But I am excited! More to come!
